Mamta Kulkarni starred as the lead actress in 'Aashik Awara', opposite Saif Ali Khan. The Umesh Mehra directorial, that was released in the year 1993, the film became a hit at the box office.In an old interview, the actress talked about her experience working with Khan, who made his debut with the film. The video that surfaced on the internet once again, has the actress getting rather candid about her experience working with Saif.

In an interview with Lehren, Kulkarni talked about her co-star, and said that while working with him, she felt like he had great potential. She said, "Usko matlab, humesha lagta hai ki woh aur better karega, aur better karega."

The actress went on to add that in the first film itself, Saif was quite "inquisitive" about what was happening. She added, "He used to ask about what I am doing before, what I am doing afterwards." She stated, "This is a sign of a very good actor."Mamta also added that Saif has the motivation to grow and expressed that if a person has such qualities, he is a good person. She concluded by saying, "He is very hardworking, and his hard work will definitely pay off."
