It's the late Rishi Kapoor's birthday today. The actor has done over 150 movies and known for films like 'Bobby', 'Chandni' and then later in his career, films like 'D-day', 'Mulk', 'Kapoor & Sons'. On this day, friends and family are remembering the actor. His wife Neetu Kapoor and daughter Ridhima Kapoor Sahni dropped heartfelt notes for him. Riddhima shared a heartfelt message in a post which read, “We celebrate you every day Papa. You are loved, missed and remembered — always. Happy Birthday. Love you…”. She shared a throwback photo that saw Rishi smiling away with son-in-law Bharat along with Riddhima, Neetu and his grand-daughter Samara. As Riddhima spoke about her father, here's recalling an instance which Rishi had shared in his autobiography, 'Khullam Khulla', co-written with Meena Iyer. In this as he opened up about his life and career, he revealed an incident which made him quit a habit. Rishi, once a regular chain smoker, quit the habit in an instant after a simple, heartfelt remark from his daughter struck a deep chord with him. From that moment on, he never touched a cigarette again.
The actor shared, "I used to smoke a lot, but I quit when my daughter told me, ‘I won’t kiss you in the morning because your mouth smells.’ Since that day, I haven’t touched a cigarette." Rishi Kapoor got married to Neetu Singh in January 1980. Their daughter Riddhima was born in the same year in September. Meanwhile, their son Ranbir Kapoor was born in 1982. Rishi has often admitted that he was not the kind of father who could be a friend to his son. He very much recognised it, regretted it somehow and and expressed that he wishes Ranbir would be a different kind of father than he was to his children. Kapoor passed away in 2020 after battling with Leukemia for two years.
